The Zimbabwe national soccer team, the Warriors finally left for Cameroon where they will take on the Indomitable Lions in an international friendly on Tuesday ahead of the AFCON finals starting in Gabon on Saturday.

The warriors travelled in batches with the first group leaving the country at 7.am on Sunday morning.

A larger contingent dominated by players and the technical team then left at 13:40 hours on Sunday with a third batch scheduled to have left at 5.pm.

Speaking shortly before their departure, Warriors strikers Nyasha Mushekwi and Tendai Ndoro said they are looking forward to representing their country for the first time at AFCON 2017.

The Zimbabwean camp had been engulfed in chaos all week with issues to do with accommodation, allowances and appearance fees sparking a dispute.

ZIFA and the Warriors squad then negotiated and reached an agreement resulting in players agreeing to leave for West Africa on Sunday.

Zimbabwe will now be bracing up for a friendly against Cameroon and their Group B opener against Algeria next Sunday.
