HIGHLANDERS star Rahman Kutsanzira believes their defeat to Shabanie Mine is a wakeup call for them never to underrate any team.

Kutsanzira, who was expected to start training yesterday after being sidelined with injury in the past weeks, said he was in pain watching from the sidelines as they wasted opportunities to score.

A Nelson Maziwisa strike was all Shabanie needed to cause last week's major upset.

"In that game we created so many chances but failed to find the back of the net. We could have won that game. But I guess it that is a wakeup call to us and every other game that we will play.

"No team will be easy at all and we have to be at our best to win games," said Kutsanzira. The midfielder was injured in the ZNA Charities semi-final against FC Platinum and is only making a return now, having missed the first two league matches of 2017.

"I would have wanted to be part of those games but I was out. I'm happy I'm now ready to train with the team again and hopefully I will play matches soon," he said.

On Sunday Highlanders will be facing FC Platinum again in an Independence Trophy semi-final.

"When we beat them 3-0, that was no fluke. We can beat them again. It will be a difficult game but we have what it takes to come out with a result," said Kutsanzira.

While Highlanders will be facing FC Platinum at Barbourfields on Sunday, Dynamos will also be playing bitter rivals CAPS United at the National Sports Stadium on the same day.
