Dynamos 0 - 1 How Mine (T Banda 43')
Dynamos produced one of its worst performance this season after losing to a rather wasteful How Mine on a rain-drenched Thursday afternoon at the National Sports Stadium.
Dynamos made two changes from the team that won at the Colliery. Playing their 4th match inside 11days, the Dembare team looked jaded all afternoon in the rain-soaked National Stadium turf.
Epoupa whose mother is no feeling well back in Cameroon did not make it into the 18men squad so Wisdom replaced him.
Mambare who was injured in Hwange joined Saunyama, Mushure and Mukamba in the hospital ward.
How Mine were however generally in control from start to finish despite Dynamos threatening sporadically.
Dynamos promising start was however ended in the 8th minute when a crude tackle on Mandiranga inescapably ended his enthusiasm to have a go at opponents.
Dynamos were lucky not to concede a penalty in the 15th minute when Rusere handled inside the box. The ref might have given Rusere the benefit of doubt since his hands were not extended but were on the chest.
Though How Mine had the possession they only threatened from set pieces like corners and freekicks that they headed wide.
Astonishingly it could have been Dynamos first on the scoresheet but somehow Mandiranga failed to pass the ball into an empty net with Donovan at seas before the half hour mark.
Quality had intelligently released Sadiki down the right, the later exquisitely laid a square ball to Mandiranga who chose to shoot wide to throw his name into the hat for contender of miss of the day.
Dynamos finally broke down in defense when Zvasiya and Mateyaunga were not at the Same wavelength. Zvasiya deflected a weird ball past Mateyaunga and Muroiwa in a bid to clean up the ball that was heading in, was out jumped by an onrushing Toto Banda under the bar to send How Mine ahead two minutes before the break.
Dynamos looked better in second half and again ten minutes after the breather Sadiki should have drawn Dembare level.
Again Quality did well to set up Sadiki, who did well to control and compose himself. Sadiki come face to face with Donovan and did well to do a dummy the sent Donovan the other way but his shot hit the upright post and went out.
Right on the hour, Mutasa pulled out Makaha for Ndaba hoping for a change of fortunes. The next big chance, however fell to How Mine who on the counter failed to beat Mateyaunga with Dynamos defenders struggling to recover.
With 15minutes to go Wisdom and Sadiki were recalled to the bench, Kapupurika and Macheka were introduced.
They brought urgency but How Mine were slowing down proceedings. DeMbare forced a couple of corner kicks towards the end but How Mine survived.
With the clock hitting the 87th-minute Dynamos almost equalised when Quality come face to face with Donovan. Donovan was quick to come out and Quality rushed his effort and Donovan punched it out.
Quality then beat his marker and opened fire but Donovan punched inside the referee's optional time, the rebound fell to Kapupurika whose intended cross deceived Donovan but crashed against the crossbar for the second time in the match.
From that crossbar scare, How Mine could have doubled the advantage 15seconds later when on the counter they also hit the post before Mateyaunga recovered to save.
