Highlanders Football Club has appointed Nhlanhla Bahlangene Dube as its new chief executive officer.

The former club secretary and committee member joins Bosso on a two-year renewable contract following the retirement of veteran administrator Ndumiso Gumede last year.

Dube started as the club's representative in Harare before taking up the committee member's post between 2002-3 before he was elected the club secretary between 2004 and 2005.

Dube who holds a CAF certificate in administration and an instructor's diploma in football administration has among his duties the responsibility to ensure he grows the club's brand.

Highlanders acting chairman Modern Ngwenya said contrary to media reports that insinuated that his appointment was forced by the board of directors, Dube had been appointed above board.

In his acceptance speech, Dube indicated that his task was to ensure that while the club satisfied its entertainment mandate, it also reaps results on the commercial side of its operations.

Dube comes to the club at a time Bosso are leading the log with expectations from its legion of fans that he will aid in the solidifying of the top spot while ensuring the club's commercial entities become viable to avoid over-reliance on gate takings.
