MAMELODI Sundowns are keen on Phakamani Mahlambi, but the Brazilians will want to offload Khama Billiat if the Bafana Bafana international is brought on board.

Sources have informed Soccer Laduma that Sundowns, along with their African rivals Al Ahly, have shown an interest in Bidvest Wits' Mahlambi, following his return from a training stint with Portuguese-outfit Vitoria Guimaraes.

Now with Downs linked to the player as the close of the transfer window approaches, it seems that a deal could happen, although it could affect Coach Pitso Mosimane's current squad. According to the source, for the deal to happen, the club will need to offload Billiat.

Sundowns previously revealed on their official website that head coach Pitso Mosimane has resigned himself to being without the services of Billiat when the transfer window closes today, but the club is yet to confirm whether or not they have received any more offers for the Zimbabwean's services.

The Brazilians were set to conclude two "big name" signings this transfer window. Thus, it remains to be seen whether Mahlambi will be making his way to the Chloorkop-based club and if a move away from Sundowns will materialise for Billiat in the coming hours.
