Chicken Inn will be booted out and fined $2 000

CHICKEN will be booted out of the Chibuku Super Cup and fined US$2 000 if found guilty of causing the abandonment of the game against Yadah, according to the rules and regulations of the tournament.

The Gamecocks walked off the field after Yadah had been awarded a penalty with three minutes to go.
Highlanders on the other hand could also be in trouble over violence at Mandava.

Yesterday PSL were still studying the match reports for the abandoned game.

According to the rules and regulations of the tournament, under such circumstances, the matter will be referred to the Disciplinary Committee.

The DC will "impose a fine of not less than USD2 000.00 (Two Thousand United States dollars) on the guilty team".

"The match result is awarded to the opposing team on a 3-0 winning score line or more if the opposing team has already reached a higher score."

The match in question is going through adjudication in line with those rules and regulations and PSL said they would only issue a statement once the process was complete.

According to the regulations the "decisions taken by Premier Soccer League and/or its ad hoc committees are final and binding".

In the said match, Chicken Inn are said to have protested against the referee's decision to award a penalty.

While the Chicken Inn and Yadah case is the bigger case being dealt on by PSL, Highlanders also face a fine if found guilty of the violence by fans at Mandava on Sunday.

The same regulations say it is an offence if club fails to exercise control over its fans before, during and after the match leading to chaos or violence.

In the same manner, such a case is referred to the Disciplinary Committee before "a fine of not less than USD2 000.00 (Two Thousand United States dollars) imposed on the club who (committed) the offence" is imposed.
