Dynamos fined only $2,500 for violence

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) Disciplinary Committee has slammed Dynamos and Ngezi Platinum Stars for the crowd trouble that marred their Castle Lager Premiership clash last month.
The two clubs were fined $2 500 each and were also ordered to pay the costs of the hearing.
"The Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee has fined Ngezi Platinum Stars and Dynamos following match disturbances that occurred at a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match featuring the two teams at Baobab Stadium on October 28, 2017," reads the statement.
"Ngezi Platinum Stars were ordered to pay a fine of $2 500 of which $500 has been suspended for the rest of the season on condition that the accused is not convicted of a similar offence.
"Dynamos were found guilty of beaching order 31 of the PSL Rules and regulations. The club was fined a sum of $2 500 of which $500 was suspended for the rest of the season on condition that the accused is not convicted of similar offence."
Both teams are expected to pay their fines before end of this month. The match between the two teams degenerated into total chaos especially in the second half as both sets of fans fought running battles.
Trouble started when the Dynamos players, officials and fans took offence with a ball boy, who was behind Tonderai Mateyaunga's goal.
The DeMbare fans jumped over the perimeter fence to chase away the home side's ball boy, who had kicked a ball into the net.
The few police officers at the venue failed to deal with the unruly fans as they were overwhelmed.
A number of fans were injured in the violence with the medics at the match treating them on the pitch.
Referee Brighton Chimene was forced to stop the match for at least 16 minutes with chaos ensuing on the pitch.
Dynamos lost the match 2-0.
