Match fixing and bribery charges against disgraced former ZIFA Chief Executive Officer, Henrietta Rushwaya  is slowly crumbling after her lawyer on Monday said the case against her is based on "improper and premature" investigations.

Rushwaya who instilled fear among soccer administrators during her reign had her bail conditions relaxed and given back her passport so she could fly South Africa and Dubai on personal business.

She is facing 11 counts of concealing transactions from a principal, two counts of fraud and 15 others of bribery involving a staggering $1 million would be back in court on March 9.

She was arrested early February.

On Monday Harare magistrate Anita Tshuma ordered the release of her passport after Rushwaya had made an application to the court to relax her bail conditions.

A ZIFA investigation found that Rushwaya was the mastermind behind the fixes and allegedly used secret agents connected to the country's longtime ruler, President Robert Mugabe, to manipulate players and coaches on the tours to Asia.

The scandal has resulted in the suspension of more than 80 players - most of them internationals - by the Zimbabwean FA

During her initial brief appearance in court Rushwaya denied the allegations, labeling them "false."

Her lawyer, Jonathan Samkange says flimsy evidence against Rushwaya lacks proof to secure a conviction.
