Philip Chiyangwa the current Zifa CEO is a co-founder of the Affirmative Action Group together with the late Peter Pamire (1962-1997), a chair of Native Africa Investments Ltd., and has served as an MP for the ZANU-PF party in Zimbabwe.
Yesterday the Zifa Chief Whip donated 1338 pads at Harare City Junior Council campaign at Town House in Harare.
The Junior Council is taking part in this initiative on a million pad campaign and as part of the donation Dr Philip Chiyangwa saw it fit and donated $1000 which was used to purchase these pads
Dr Philip Chiyangwa is not a stranger when it comes to helping the needy in the community. In Chegutu he has a soccer team which he sponsors as well as in Chinhoyi Mashonaland West Province where he has also sponsored a number of football clubs from the Area Zone to Division level.
In another gesture Christ Embassy Ministries have also donated about 200 sanitary pads to the Harare Junior Council. The Harare Junior Council has also appealed to more individuals and well wishers to donate in cash or kind to this noble initiative where it will go a long way in supporting the girl child.
Very few girls and women have access to these sanitary pads and such people who take the heed to donate them should be saluted.
Dr Philip Chiyangwa popularly known as "Captain Fiasco" in the business world is a shrewd character and business man who juggles with chances. Recently there were media reports awash with his arrest and that he was arrested when trying to jump the border because of the recently political developments in the country. To prove his innocence he quickly posted a video saying he was around the country and was enjoying the freedom in the country.
He had promised the Harare Junior Council with more donations in cash or kind as he was touched by their appeal for donations.
