VICTORIOUS FC Platinum really know how to celebrate, as they threw a 'mother of all parties' at the Lugogo Sun in Swaziland on Sunday.
The filthy rich team threw an 'after party' at the hotel soon after their game against the Swaziland side Green Mamba, which was played at the Somhlolo National Stadium on the same day.
Although none of the team's officials were willing to share how much they spent during the lavish party, it could well have been over R20 000.
The team's players were allowed a rare opportunity to drink themselves silly. The drinks were indeed flowing. Journalists and their local counterparts also danced the night away as the Zimbabweans celebrated beating Green Mamba 4-2 to make the second leg a mere formality.
"This is nothing. Unfortunately our flight back to Zimbabwe will be very early tomorrow (Monday morning) hence we cannot be haywire as a majority of the team members would want.
This is not a party per se but we are merely congratulating the players for a job well done earlier on today (Sunday).
"Actually such celebrations are a norm back home in Zimbabwe after significant victories. We always show the players that we appreciate whatever they do for the team," one of the team's officials said.
The party dragged on until the wee hours of the morning. Noteworthy is that some of the Swaziland ladies of the night were also in attendance and they too happily danced the night away with the players, in particular brace hero Ngoma Donald, who was a hit on the makeshift dance floor. The lanky player scored twice to lead his team to the emphatic victory earlier on.
