The Asiagate soccer scandal in Zimbabwe has hit new heights with reports that ZIFA CEO Jonathan Mashingaidze was on February 21 kidnapped for several hours by unknown people.
He was taken to a dark spot outside Harare at night and interrogated; a day after former ZIFA boss Henrietta Rushwaya appeared in court.
She is facing 11 counts of concealing transactions from a principal, two counts of fraud and 15 others of bribery involving a staggering $1 million would be back in court on March 9.
She was arrested early February.
Mashingaidze was accused by his kidnappers of blowing the whistle on the lucrative scam that has left more than 90 players and administrators suspended for allegedly taking part in match fixing.
One of the alleged kidnappers is in police custody in Harare as expected to appear in court today (Tuesday).
His identity would be released in court and is charged with kidnapping and extortion.
It is said that the Zifa boss kidnappers told him that he was on a "super hit list" as he has stepped on senior people toes by blowing the whistle.
Players where paid to throw away matches on several trips to Asia.
