It will take a miracle for the inaugural African Nations Championship losing finalists Ghana to reach the knockout stages of the 2011 edition after losing 1-0 to Zimbabwe at the Stade Wad Madani on Wednesday.
An Archford Gutu goal in the 75th minute was enough to seal victory for the Warriors. The goal was a well taken header after some good work on the left wing, which caught the Ghana defence in sixes and sevens.
Black Stars head coach Herbert Addo made three changes to his line up bringing in Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Sammy Adjei for Stephen Adams between the sticks after picking up two goals in the opener against South Africa.
Edwin Gyimah took Mohammed Abdul Basit's place after the latter suffered a hip injury last Saturday. Asante Kotoko winger Mohammed Sabato also got the nod ahead of Emmanuel Clottey.
Madinda Ndlovu's charges are now tied on three points with Niger who lost to South Africa in the other Group B game. Zimbabwe, unbeaten log leaders South Africa and Ghana battle it out with Niger in the final deciding games of the group.
