The Warriors technical team and group of local based players returned home yesterday evening from a four-nation tournament organised by Zambia, in which Zimbabwe lost both matches in penalties.

Warriors team manager Wellington Mpandare said the Zambian experience was critical in assessing players as Zimbabwe brace up for their next competitive AFCON encounter against Congo Brazzaville in September.

There is still a shadow of doubt surrounding the eligibility of players such as Tendayi Darikwa in Zimbabwe's next AFCON encounter but Mpandare is optimistic the United Kingdom-based players will have their documents in order by September.

In their semi-final clash against hosts Zambia, Zimbabwe drew 2-2 before losing 5-4 on penalties.

It was a repeat scenario in the 3rd and fourth place play-off where the Warriors went down 4-2 on penalties following a 2-2 draw in regulation time.
