UZ wins Zusa games

University of Zimbabwe has been crowned champions of the Zimbabwe Universities Sports Association (ZUSA)'s annual track and field competitions after collecting nine gold medals, 11 silver and six bronze.
The hosts came out top ahead of defending champions, Midlands State University, who collected 8 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals while Great Zimbabwe University took third position with 22 medals: 5 gold, 7 silver and 10 bronze.
Bindura University were 4th with 7 medals and Africa University were on 5th position after collecting 3 medals.
Chinhoyi University of Technology came 6th with 8 medals. NUST were on position 7 having scooped 4 medals. Women's University was placed 8th while Harare Institute of Technology was 9th.
Lupane came out last after failing to win any medal.
Guest of Honour, who is the Sports and Recreation Commission Vice Chairman, Edward Siwela expressed satisfaction over the games, which he said would be used to select athletes for the upcoming continental competitions.
Vezokuhle Ndlovu of UZ was nominated the best male athlete after he scooped three gold medals in the 200 metres, 400 metres and 4 by 100 relay events and a silver in 4 by 400 metres.
Sensational Beula Mufambisi of UZ again proved to be the best among women participants as she grabbed 2 gold
