HWANGE FC, are expected to leave for Sudan today for a crunch CAF Confederations Cup clash with Al Amal Atbara at the weekend.
The coal miners are fresh from their hard fought 4-3 win over Quelaton on Saturday.
Hwange FC and Al Amal Atbarab played to a one draw at the Colliery in the first leg.
However, the trip was in doubt.
With Sudan engulfed in fierce fighting, Zimbabwe Football Association approached Foreign Affairs ministry last week to seek assurance of security of both Hwange and FC Platinum.
Zifa had indicated that without the assurance they would not allow both teams to travel to Sudan and would approach CAF to switch matches to a neutral venue, outside Sudan.
However, Zifa communications manager Nicky Moyo-Dlamini on Monday said they got a green light from government.
"The response we got from the Home Affairs ministry was that it is was safe for the teams to travel to Sudan. If we had not got those assurances from government as an association we would not have risked our teams," Moyo-Dlamini.
It is not clear when FC Platinum would travel to face El Merreikh.
Hwange would depart for Johannesburg, connect to Ethiopian and arriving on Wednesday in Sudan.
