WARRIORS goalkeeper George Chigova has promised to win the AFCON qualifier against Congo Brazzaville this Sunday as a way to honour President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Chigova was charmed when the President twitted praising him after his heroic saves at the year's COSAFA edition in June which the Warriors were triumphant.

"It feels good to know that even the President has got so much confidence in you, I felt honoured when I realised that even the President is a fan of the national team.

"It is my promise to make sure that I guard the goal posts with caution and make sure that no goal is conceded.

"I will do this to honour my President, in fact winning this game and qualifying for AFCON is a present that I want to give to my President for the support he shows to us," Chigova said.

He is not under pressure ahead of Sunday.

"I believe in everyone who is in camp, I know this combination will give the best results.

"If we manage to do it when we played Liberia, we can still do it against Congo Brazzaville.

"I understand they (Congo) have a very strong squad and that is not shaking me in any way because I believe our squad is strong as well," Chigova said.
