Mutare City 1 - 0 Highlanders
Mutare City Rovers stunned Highlanders in a match played at Vengere Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Veteran striker Evans Chikwaikwai scored the all-important goal that gave the Eastern Highlands side a shocking victory over the Bulawayo giants.

The teams went to the break with no goals scored, but it was the visitors who created more chances and were slightly dominant in possession.

The second half resumed with Bosso controlling proceedings, and Tafadzwa Sibanda could have broken the deadlock in minute 57 but his week shot gave no trouble to the goalkeeper.

As the match seemed to be heading for a draw, Chikwaikwai who looked like he was in an offside position pounced on a loose ball and found the back of the net. The goal stood, and it decided the outcome of the tie as Rovers grabbed the maximum points to boost their chances of surviving relegation.

In Bulawayo, two second-half goals by Joel Ngodzo and Wisdom Mutasa gave CAPS United a 2-1 away win over Chicken Inn.

Ngodzo opened the scoring as early as in the 6th minute, converting a penalty after a foul on Mutasa inside the box.

Mutasa went on to put his name on the scoresheet on the stroke of half-time, tapping in from a close range.

The Gamecocks pulled one back ten minutes into the second period through Innocent Muchaneka. They tried to get the equaliser but could not find it as the Green Machine keeper Prosper Chigumba denied them on several occasions.

The match ended 1-2 in favour of Makepekepe.

Log leaders FC Platinum dropped points in Harare when they played to a 1-1 draw against Black Rhinos.

Allan Gahadzikwa gave Rhinos the cushion in the 40th minute before Rodwell Chinyengetere equalised in the 77th minute.

The Zvishavane side is now three points ahead of second-placed Ngezi Platinum who beat ZPC Kariba 1-0 at Baobab Stadium.

Madamburo got the winner through Keith Murera who netted in the 28th minute when he connected Micheal Charamba's corner-kick.

Elsewhere, Shabanie Mine and Yadah played to a goalless draw while Ephraim Mwinga was on target as Nichrut edged out Bulawayo City.

Tinotenda Benza scored a brilliant rising shot in the second half which helped Herentals beat Bulawayo Chiefs 1-0.

The game between Triangle and Harare City ended in 1-1 stalemate. Lameck Nhamo was on target for the Sugar Boys while Ishmael Wadi secured the leveller for City.
