CAPS United (2) 3 - (0) 1 FC Platinum
Former Bosso striker, Rahman Kutsanzira scored two beautiful goals to power a resurgent CAPS United to sweet victory and condemn his namesake, Rahman Gumbo, to a bitter defeat at the National Sports Stadium yesterday.
Kutsanzira struck a brace while Washington Pakamisa added the other goal as they helped the Green Machine roll past Gumbo's FC Platinum in a Castle Lager Premiership tie at the giant stadium.
The win saw CAPS United roaring to their biggest win of the season, but team manager Sean Connor warned his players against getting carried way after their best day in the office since the Northern Irishman's arrival.
They have now won three games on the bounce.
When the league action resumes on the weekend of 9-10 June, CAPS United will travel to Gweru for a date against Hardbody while FC Platinum will host Quelaton at Mandava.
Gumbo yesterday accepted the defeat as part of the game and felt let down by his players.
"It was not really our day. From the start, the players had a wrong attitude towards the game but we will bounce back," said Gumbo.
Gumbo said he was not sure why Togara received the second yellow card.
"I do not know why he was given a red card. Maybe he said something to the referee but at the end of the day the referee has the final say," said Gumbo.
Togara got his marching orders after a foul on Kutsanzira.
