Zifa notifies Fifa of match-fixing fears

The Zimbabwe Football Association says they have alerted FIFA of their suspicions that the Warriors' two 2014 World Cup qualifying fixtures against Guinea and Mozambique could have been fixed.
This comes after ZIFA reported they had intercepted some Warriors players coming from former CEO's Henrietta Rushwaya's business premises.
"We have advised FIFA as an early warning system that we suspect a hand of match-fixing, so we want them to look into these games," said Mr Jonathan Mashingaidze, the ZIFA CEO.
Mashingaidze noted that they are many third party forces at play with different agendas whose main aim is to use football to cause a lot of negatives in the country.
Rushwaya and her defence council have however scoffed at ZIFA's accusations saying the association is just looking for a scapegoat measure to apportion blame for the team's poor showing.
They further revealed they will be laying criminal and civil charges forthwith for the damage it is creating on the person of the said accused.
"She has the right to association and has no obligation whatsoever to give her timeline because she did not committee any crime," Rushwaya's defence council said.
Efforts to get the mentioned players' side of the story proved fruitless, but key striker Knowledge Musona was with the rest of the squad during their afternoon training session, while Karuru was reported to be out of camp due to an injury incurred in the match against Mozambique.
