Zimbabwe 5 - 3 Lesotho
ZIMBABWE atoned for their 1-0 loss to hosts Botswana in Three-Nation Invitational soccer tournament by coming from a goal down to beat Lesotho 5-3 yesterday.
Goals by Shabanie Mine hitman and Castle Lager Premiership leading goalscorer, Nelson Mazivisa, who bagged a brace, former Soccer Star of the Year and FC Platinum striker Charles Sibanda, Monomotapa's Ronald Chitiyo and Hwange skipper Rodwell Chinyengetere were enough to give Rahman Gumbo his first win of the tournament.
Reports from Molepole however suggest that the match was a stormy one with Brian Mapfumo being red-carded in the first half with the Warriors down 1-2.
The Warriors, however turned on the power in the second half to pummel their opponents into submission.
The Botswana Football Association arranged the tournament in order to give the Zebras a platform to prepare for their final 2013 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Mali while the Warriors had been hoping to do the same ahead of their game against Angola.
But the team that lined up against the Zebras was more of a third string Warriors with only two or three of them likely to make the side that will face the Palancas Negras in September.
