SA clubs battle to sign Zimbabwe stars

Negotiations between two Premier Soccer League clubs and Zimbabwe champions Dynamos over the transfer of key players to South Africa are continuing this weekend.
Orlando Pirates' bid to sign striker Takesure Chinyama is deadlocked, according to reports, as is the deal to take international goalkeeper Washington Arubi to newly promoted Pretoria University.
The NewsDay said Pirates official Stanley 'Screamer' Tshabalala had spent four hours in discussion with Dynamos chairman Keni Mubaiwa in the Zimbabwe capital this week.
The newspaper reported the two clubs agreed on all aspects of the transfer, save for the transfer fee.
"I can confirm we met a representative from Orlando Pirates over the transfer of Takesure Chinyama and we had fruitful negotiations. So far we have agreed on everything but the transfer fee," the newspaper quoted Dynamos chairman Keni Mubaiwa as saying.
"Tshabalala gave us their offer which we were not happy with. We gave him our figures and he said he would have to consult with his club."
Dynamos said Pirates had offered the 30-year-old Chinyama a three year contract. The striker recently returned back to Zimbabwe after a stint in Poland and has already got eight goals for Dynamos this season.
A deal is also still being struck between AmaTuks and Dynamos for the services of goalkeeper Washington Arubi, who has been training with the PSL new boys but went back to Dynamos last weekend to play for them in the CAF Confederation Cup.
He flew back to South Africa on Wednesday but Dynamos have told reporters they are not pleased with the way the negotiations have been proceedings while Tuks are waiting until the end of the month to make a final decision.
