Chippa United's scramble for new players continued on Friday with confirmation that the Premier Soccer League new boys have signed defender Byron Madzokere from former Zimbabwe champions Gunners FC
The 21-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Cape Town club following a three-week trial stint, officials said.
The 'Chilli Boys' have been moving swiftly to strengthen their squad before they debut in the top flight next weekend, away at powerhouse Mamelodi Sundowns in Atteridgeville.
Madzokere is the fourth foreigner signed by United in the last month.
He joins Niger internationals Losseny Doumbia (goalkeeper) and Idrissa Saïdou (striker) as well as the Togolese Thomas Amegnaglo.
They still have more foreign slot open.
Chippa United's new coach Manqoba Mngqithi has also signed Larry Cohen (Mpumalanga Black Aces), Mfundo Shumana (Ajax Cape Town) and Msekeli Mvalo (Lamontville Golden Arrows).
Chippa have also secured a loan deal with Orlando Pirates for Sibusiso Mnguni.
Madzokere joins Chippa after he had previously been on trial at AmaZulu, Bloemfontein Celtic and SuperSport United, but failed to attract an offer.
