Zimbabwe Warriors have taken a dive in the latest FIFA rankings and now sit in 98th place following the computerised ratings released by the world football controlling body on Wednesday.
The Warriors fell 9 places and are now placed 98th on the globe, from 89th the last time the rankings were updated and have also slipped heavily in Africa where they are now on 25th position, 4 places down from 21st position.
This followed the Warriors' 2-0 defeat at the hands of Angola in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier that also saw the Warriors eliminated from the run for a place at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
Ironically, the Warriors were 98th before beating Angola 3-1 at Rufaro Stadium and jumped to 89th.
Ivory Coast, Algeria, Mali, Ghana and Zambia occupy the top places in Africa. Mauritania who are placed on the 206th position in the world are Africa's lowest ranked football nation.
Spain remain the top football team in the world followed by Germany, England, Uruguay, and Portugal while Brazil, once the most dominant football force, are still out of the top 10 at 13th position.
Five-times world champions Brazil remained stuck outside the top 10 despite winning both friendlies last month and scoring 10 goals in the process.
Brazil, whose next game is against Colombia next week, thumped Iraq 6-0 and Japan 4-0 yet rose only one place in the controversial table, from a record low 14th to 13th.
