Arubi, Mushekwi off hook

South Africa-based goalkeeper Washington Arubi and striker Nyasha Mushekwi have escaped sanctions after getting one-year wholly suspended sentences following the Asiagate scandal.
In a statement, the Zimbabwe Football Association listed Arubi and Mushekwi among those who will not face sanctions alongside former Warriors manager Ernest Mapepa Sibanda and Motor Action coach Joey Antipas who got five-year suspended sentences.
Shabanie Mine coach Luke Masomere and former Young Warriors coach, Methembe Ndlovu, have however been banned for two years.
Monomotapa director Solomon Mugavazi is the hardest hit as he has been banned for five years, while former Warriors coach Norman Mapeza has received a six-month ban.
Several other players including South African based Gilbert Mapemba, Lionel Mutizwa, Tafadzwa Rusike and Ramson Zhuwawo have been given wholly suspended sentences which are subject to paying various fines by the 31st of December.
