Warriors coach in work permit fix

WORK permit problems for national football coach Klaus-Dieter Pagels have derailed the Warriors' preparations for the Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifier against Egypt next month.
Pagels has stopped work as Zifa scurries to regularise the German coach's papers ahead of their friendly match against Botswana at the weekend.
It was not clear by yesterday what problems Zifa were facing in getting the work permit, but it is a process that can be daunting.
Pagels was employed as a technical advisor for Zifa on a government-to-government agreement, but Zifa decided to employ the coach to manage the Warriors late last year.
Pagels was looking to start preparations with an international friendly match against Botswana on Wednesday but as matters stand he cannot even conduct training sessions.
Contacted for comment Zifa board member Benedict Moyo, in charge of the national team, said he was not aware of Pagel's problem.
Zifa chief executive officer Jonathan Mashingaidze, who only returned to work this week owing to illness, was not available for comment.
