Five junior soccer players who are going for trials at Spanish La Liga outfit, Espanyol have expressed confidence of making the grade to become the first Zimbabwean players to sign for a Spanish team.
Harley Matarutse, Farai Matonga and Austin Rwodzi, Farai Hwenga and Elvis Dahwa Kaseke are confident they will make a positive impression on European soil.
The trial stint for the five young rising stars was facilitated by Friendly Academy and provides a once in a lifetime opportunity to make a breakthrough into one of the mainstream football leagues of Europe.
Youth soccer coach, Partridge Muskwe, who will accompany the young players to Spain, said the boys have the potential to make the grade.
"They have responded well to the training programme and that should be a positive factor at the trials. I am confident the players will impress," he said.
The travelling party leaves for Spain this coming Friday ahead of the trials to be held from the 29th of this month to the 3rd of May.
The five will carry the nation's hope at the summer camp, which also features several other junior players from across the globe who will be keen to impress the club's scouts.
