Dexter Masunda, Ali Sundowns Academy's promising striker has been snapped up by South African soccer giants Kaizer Chiefs and drafted into the club's youth developmental side.

The 17-year-old Masunda was on loan at relegated Gunners last season and joins fellow Zimbabweans at the Naturena, Willard Katsande, Lincoln Zvasiya, Zhaimu Jambo and Kingston Nkhata the Absa Premiership side.

Ali Sundowns owner Desmond Ali confirmed the move and said his academy had also struck deals with two American universities in Dallas and Texas in a move that will see youngsters from the football school landing scholarships in the United States.

Masunda joined Ali Sundowns academy as a 12-year-old and has been moulded into a player whom can make noise in the not too distant future.

Ali Sundowns has already struck a deal with Dallas Baptist University, El Centro College and Paul Quinn College and it hopes that its youngsters will land football scholarships there.

Ali Sundowns has age groups ranging from Under-10, which have groomed players who have gone on to play in the country's top- flight league and also boast a ladies' team.

Such players as Godknows Mangani (Black Mambas), Clive Boroma (Monomotapa) and Misheck Mburayi, who once had a stint with Motor Action and Highlanders, cut their soccer teeth at the Mabvuku-based academy.
