FORMER Zimbabwe Warriors and Manchester City striker Benjani Mwaruwari is willing to stay on to help Chippa United in their fight to retain their Premiership status during the promotion and relegation play-offs.
Benjani's three-month contract was due to expire at the end of the season but after Chippa pulled off a dramatic late escape from automatic relegation, he is prepared to stay for the play-offs against three other National First Division sides.
"Life in Cape Town is good for me. I wasn't used to it at first but slowly I'm getting there. I've enjoyed my life over the past (three months) and anything is possible, so without doubt if they approach me again asking me to stay, I will stay," Mwaruwari said.
Mwaruwari has only scored one goal for the club since joining in February but could be vital when they come up against spirited second tier teams.
"We knew what was going on (in other matches) but at half-time our coach told us not to panic and that we must keep our heads cool and concentrate on the game. We did exactly that and won the game," Mwaruwari said.
"When you win, you obviously feel great but the disappointing part is that we are going to play in the play-offs, so we have to get ourselves together and prepare for the playoffs."
