Veteran sports journalist, Goodwill Zunidza believes the Zimbabwe Warriors will rewrite history this Sunday by beating Egypt at the giant National Sports Stadium.
Its two decades since the Zimbabwe national soccer team beat the Egyptian Pharaohs.
Zunidza says it is time for the Warriors to recreate history by producing the same feat that the then 'Dream Team' did in December 1992.
He says the pointers are clear for all too see - it was at the giant national sports arena and it will be again at the giant 60 000-seater stadium, it was a German coach named Reinhard Fabisch and it is now a German coach named Klaus Pagels.
However, as to whether the football gods will allow the jigsaw puzzle of combinations to fall into place, only time will tell.
The fact though is that Zimbabweans will gather at the giant stadium to rally a young crop of rookies who hold the key to the destiny of Zimbabwean football.
The score line might not be too relevant anymore, but the expectation will be just how far are the rookies prepared to go in salvaging the national pride for the world's most beautiful game.
