Dynamos' quest for a third consecutive Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title is set for a major boost amid disclosures that former Zimbabwe international frontrunner Takesure Chinyama is seriously contemplating a return to the Glamour Boys this transfer window.
Chinyama, who moved to Orlando Pirates in June last year reportedly for $75 000 is said to be eyeing a swansong back home that is sure to sharpen Kallisto Pasuwa's attacking options.
Chinyama was released by Orlando Pirates last week after a season with the Buccaneers in which he really never got the spark that made him a star. The return however, can be scuppered by the fact that the player's management is still holding out for a continued stay in the ABSA premiership for the big forward who is not short of admirers, chief among them Clinton Larsen's Bloemfontein Celtic.
One last dance with the South African league is the top priority for his handlers but the player himself - weighed down by a nagging knee injury he suffered while still at Legia Warsaw - has made it clear he will not go for broke to secure another foreign contract and has no qualms ending his career at Dynamos.
Contacted for comment Dynamos secretary Webster Chikengezha said in as far as Chinyama will always be welcome at the Glamour Boys, there was no official word from the player as yet.
"As far as I know he has an offer in South Africa and should be continuing there. But look, if nothing comes of it, he is our former player who did extremely well when he played for us and if he fancies a return, he is always welcome. Kaizer Chiefs welcomed back Musona after his troubles in Germany and that is exactly what we will do as Dynamos should he consider to come back.
"But I think the best would be for you to get in touch with me next week (this week), after I talk to him personally and hear what his plans are," Chikengezha said.
A reliable source, however, said Chinyama was keen on a move and indeed called Pasuwa last week after being shown the exit door by Pirates.
"He called Pasuwa telling him of his fate and discussed a possible return to the club where he says he wants to end his playing career subject to negotiations he is currently having in South Africa.
"The last time he was here the love from the multitudes of fans was evident and he really felt at home after about half a decade in Poland," " said the source.
