Referees are not protecting our players, says Pasuwa

High on Kalisto Pasuwa's agenda is the need to keep the pressure on the leading pack, revenging the defeat they suffered at the hands of the same opponent will also linger in his mind.
Pasuwa will still need to conjure a winning formula in the absence of the impressive duo of Devon Chafa and Ocean Mushure who are on duty with the Warriors in Zambia.
Injuries continue wrecking his squad with his striking options decimated by the absence of Washington Pakamisa and Partrick Khumbula. The midfield also misses utility man Thomas Magorimbo while Byron Madzokere and Artwell Mukandi are also out.
Speaking to journalists after his team's Friday workout the reigning Castle Lager Coach of the Year reiterated that match officials were giving him a raw deal.
"The referees are not protecting our players. In Bulawayo Hebert Dick came hard on Washy (Pakamisa) more than six times and Muparati as captain raised this with the referee but what happens?
"Tawanda was cautioned and Washy eventually got injured, but Dick walked away a free man.
"The result (in Mutare) was not a true reflection of how we played. We played good passing football but the bumpy pitch and poor officiating was our let down.
"If complacency doesn't creep in we can easily beat them," Pasuwa said.
In Hwange resurgent former champions Caps United are also aiming to stay within shouting distance of the log leaders with a win over the coal miners.
"It is a very important game for us after dropping points against Highlanders.
"The message is let us go out there and atone for the draw against Highlanders.
"The Colliery used to be a fortress, but they have been dropping points there of late, so that gives us a lot of encouragement ahead of the match," according to coach Taurai Mangwiro.
Makepekepe welcome back flying leftback Ronald Pfumbidzai and striker Tawanda Nyamandwe who missed last week's match but will have to do without Leonard Fiyado (bereaved), defender Arnold Chivheya (suspension) and Hardlife Zvirekwi (national duty).
