THE Castle Lager Premier Soccer League leading goalscorer Tendai Ndoro left for South Africa on Tuesday for a trial stint with Wits University who have former Warriors defender Dickson Choto trying his luck as well.

Wits play in the South African Premiership and are already home to Tinashe Nengomasha, Thomas Sweswe, Denver Mukamba and Benjani Mwaruwari.

Ndoro was part of the Warriors squad that lost 2-0 in the final of the Cosafa Cup to Zambia on Saturday at Ndola's Levy Mwanamasa Stadium.

Sources said the striker left in the company of Harare based agent Gibson Mahachi on Sunday evening.

Chicken Inn boss Lifa Ncube confirmed yesterday that the player was in South Africa.  He said it was their club policy never to stand in the path of players when they seek greener pastures.

"He is in South Africa for trials with Wits. It is club policy to allow our players to go for greener pastures," said Ncube.

Ndoro is on demand locally with championship chasing Highlanders and Dynamos after his signature and is likely to leave the Gamecocks for the Harare giants in the event that his South African deal flops.

Ndoro scored a brace against Lesotho in the semi-finals, that propelled Zimbabwe to the final where they lost to hosts Zambia.
