Dynamos signs Oscar Machapa

Dynamos yesterday sealed a deal to bring in utility player Oscar Machapa to boost their squad as they aim to defend their Castle Lager Premiership title.

Machapa's joining of Dembare will fly as a direct insult to their green rivals Caps United, whom he turned out for before joining South African side Moroka Swallows.

But the Dube Birds deemed Machapa excess baggage. The player who can operate either in defence or midfield joined Swallows in 2010.

Dynamos chairman Kenny Mubaiwa yesterday confirmed that they had signed Machapa for an initial one year period.

Mubaiwa said the deal was subject to review upon its expiry.

Former Caps United winger Tafadzwa Rusike has been training with Dynamos with the hope of turning out for them after he was off-loaded by Ajax Cape Town.

In joining Dynamos, Machapa becomes the fourth former Caps United player in the squad this season after Washington Pakamisa, Clive Kawinga and Stephen Alimenda joined at the beginning of the season.
