Manchester City plan to use Emmanuel Adebayor to make a new bid for Real Madrid star Kaka.
Marca says City hope to use Adebayor as bait in their bid to beat Chelsea to the signing of Real Madrid superstar Kaka.
The Togo centre-forward is currently on loan at the Bernabeu but has struggled to convince the hierarchy at the club that he is worth the £14.5million asking price to make the deal permanent.
City therefore hope by offering Real a further £22.5m, as well as the chance to keep the unwanted Adebayor, that Jose Mourinho would sanction the departure of Kaka, a player Mark Hughes failed to take to Eastlands in January 2009 with a £100m bid.
City face intense competition from Chelsea for the Brazilian, real name Ricardo Geminin Izecson dos Santos Leite, who likely favours a move to Stamford Bridge to link back up with Carlo Ancelotti, the man who bought him to Europe in 2003 and with whom he enjoyed unrivalled success.
The Blues were prepared to offer £25m for his services, well below Real's asking price at less than half the figure they splashed out in the same summer they lavished £80m on Cristiano Ronaldo.
