Zimbabwe international midfielder Ovidy Karuru is angling for a move from his Belgian Jupiler League side OH Leuven to join countryman Nyasha Mushekwi at KV Oostende after falling out with club manager Ronny Van Geneugden. Going into this weekend's round of fixtures, the highly rated

24-year-old attacker is yet to feature in any of the Kardinaal Mercierlaan-based side's four matches in which they have picked just a single point and are precariously placed 15th in the 16-team table.

Karuru, who arrived in the Jupiler League from France's US Bolougne in Ligue 2, is reported to have had a nasty altercation with Geneugden during a training session last season and is now paying the price.

He still has two years on his contract with OH Leuven and the club's directors and shareholders are reported to be holding out for an amicable solution to his differences with Geneugden, but the player's management camp are against taking that risk.

Speaking from his South African base, Karuru's agent Ralph Nkomo, who coincidentally played a leading role in Mushekwi's move to basement club Oostende, confirmed that negotiations were ongoing and that he expects a deal to be reached by tomorrow.

"It is our conviction that a change of club will do Ovidy a world of good. He is 24 years old and needs to be playing week in week out and try to land a big deal possibly in a country like England as he has previously played in the demanding French Ligue 1.

"His lack of action has nothing to do with ability but is down to a fallout he had with the manager some time last season which resulted in a training session altercation and as it is the boss is virtually not talking to him.

"The club's directors and shareholders are against his transfer as they rate him highly but we cannot live on that because at the end of the day it's the manager who has the final say," Nkomo said.

Nkomo said the first four games of the season have shown them that the former Masvingo United and Gunners midfielder has failed to mend bridges with Geneugden and, with the European transfer window still open, it has dawned on them that the best option is the exit door.

"He is not short of admirers and so far we have had one firm offer from Oostende and the clubs opened formal negotiations last week which I think will be concluded early this week."
