Dynamos and Zimbabwean international Devon Chafa tested positive for a banned substance after the world cup qualifier against Egypt at the National Sports Stadium in June it has emerged.
There were fears that the Zimbabwe could face disqualification from the CHAN games as Chafa was part of the Warriors team that participated in the CHAN qualifiers.
However speaking to Star FM ZIFA CEO, Jonathan Mashingaidze dismissed the rumours that Zimbabwe faced disqualification.
Mashingaidze admitted though that FIFA had indeed inquired about the substance found in Devon's urine sample and Warriors doctor Nicholas Munyonga had written back to them explaining why Chafa had taken the substance.
Mashingaidze further added that the medication had been taken for therapeutic purposes as Chafa was suffering from a knee problem.
