The Mighty Warriors qualified for this year's All Africa Games after dispatching Angola 2-0 in the second leg to win 3-1 aggregate in the final qualifier in Harare on Sunday.
First half strikes from Rudo Neshamba and Nobuhle Majika, who converted from the spot, proved adequate to secure a historic qualification for Zimbabwe.
The two sides had played out a 1-1 draw in the reverse leg in Angola two weeks ago.
Zimbabwe coach Rose Mugadza was elated at the end of the encounter, "I am happy to qualify for the Maputo Games and I say well done to the girls. The team played according to the game plan they got the early goal we wanted and they could have won by a bigger margin."
Angola assistant coach Simao Jose felt the Zimbabweans were worthy winners; we have to congratulate Zimbabwe. They were more focused than us and I hope they will do well at the tournament and represent us well as we are one family."
Zimbabwe took the lead on 37 minutes through Neshamba before a packed Rufaro Stadium.
Mugadza s girls continued to enjoy the lion's share of possession and surged further ahead just before the break after Tanzanian referee Judith Gamba awarded the hosts a penalty following a handball by Yolanda Antonio and Majika converted.
