Warriors coach, Ian Gorowa says he intends to move all national team assignments from the artificial turf of Rufaro Stadium to Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo, beginning with a friendly tie set for 8 December.
Gorowa says Rufaro Stadium has not given him and the nation favourable results and he intends to lobby with ZIFA to have all upcoming national team assignments particularly the AFCON 2015 Morocco qualifiers to be played at Barbourfields.
The Warriors coach revealed this while addressing a ZIFA inter-provincial planning meeting held in Bulawayo where he noted that bringing the national team to Barbourfields will grow and spread the game.
He said this will motivate the southern region and probably ease the pressure on the Warriors who seem to succumb to pressure when playing at Rufaro Stadium.
Gorowa also revealed that the first of such fixtures will come when Zimbabwe play the Mambas of Mozambique in an international friendly set for the 8th of December.
The Gorowa-lead Warriors technical team has not won at Rufaro after managing three draws and if approved, the move will certainly come as a relief for many fans who have always been calling for the national team to also play at various stadia across the country.
