Triangle 2 - 2 Dynamos
DYNAMOS super substitute Simba Sithole saved his team from the jaws of defeat at the hands of impressive Triangle when he headed home an all-important equaliser to make it 2-2 eight minutes after his introduction in a match played at Gibbo Stadium yesterday.
However, it was the home fans who felt hard done by as Triangle looked set to collect maximum points.
The SuperSport United flop scored in the 83rd minute from another substitute Farai Mupasiri's clever cross.
The goal silenced the vociferous Triangle fans who rallied behind their team from the first whistle till the end.
Dynamos drew first blood from the boot of Washington Pakamisa after a pass by Patrick Khumbula in the 11th minute while the home side replied through Misheck Mburayi and captain Limited Chikafa inside 17 minutes in the first half.
Striker Mburayi's spot kick gave George Chigova no chance at all before skipper Chikafa put the team on the driving seat in the 38th minute.
Dynamos tried to equalise but their opponents were unyielding at the back.
The game started at a fast pace with action swinging from one end to the other. Pakamisa scored from Patrick Khumbula's pass but Misheck Mburayi's cancelled the lead from a penalty after Courage Denias was fouled by Dynamos defender Oscar Machapa.
Zvishavane referee Rugare Kusosa pointed to the penalty spot and up stood Triangle's penalty specialist, Mburayi who unleashed a stinger beating Chigova all systems out.
Triangle took the lead in the 38th minute from Chikafa's boot after he caught the Dynamos defence napping.
Chikafa received a cross from Mburayi but the DeMbare defence to thwart the forward who then unleashed a thunderous right footer. The teams went into the breather with Dynamos trailing 2-1.
In the second half DeMbare tried to take the game to their opponents piling up the pressure searching for an equaliser.
In the 46 minute the otherwise passive Boban Zirintusa nearly brought his team back into the game but his effort from close range was punched out for a corner by Chipula. In the 48th minute Dynamos coach Callisto Pasuwa replaced the injured Muparati with Farai Mupasiri who later on turned on the tables for the Glamour Boys.
With news filtering from Rufaro that Highlanders were drawing with the already relegated Motor Action, Pasuwa evidently showed signs of frustration and he pulled out Murape for Cliff Sekete in the in the 58th minute to add more potency upfront.
In the 62nd minute Jaison Zembe got a yellow card after fouling Mupasiri a few metres outside the box but Ocean Mushure's strike went straight into the hands of Chipula.
Sensing danger Triangle gaffer Gishon Ntini pulled out Pascal Manhanga who failed to rise to the occasion by his standards.
Manhanga was replaced by Lameck Nhamo in the 75th minute.
A minute later Pasuwa also made changes when he introduced, the hero of the day, Sithole who made his presence felt a minute after getting into the game.
In the 76th minute he exchanged passes with an overlapping Machapa but Chinungwa was equal to the task as he cleared under challenge and Triangle survived another DeMbare scare.
In a surprise move Ntini pulled out the effective Denias who on several times had the Dynamos defence in sixes and sevens, for a defender, William Mapfumo in the 81st minute.
