NEWLY crowned Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions Dynamos will participate in the 2014 Caf Champions League edition and will submit their confirmation ahead of the 30 November deadline.
History-making chairman Kenny Mubaiwa, who has led Dembare to three league titles since taking over the reins, confirmed that his club would return to the Champions League.
"We cannot disappoint our loyal fans, so definitely we are going back to Africa. We have an executive meeting tomorrow (today) evening just to start those preparations," said Mubaiwa by telephone from Harare.
He said the Harare giants would soon invade the market in search of quality players that would add value to the club to avoid another embarrassing early exit.
Mubaiwa said even though they won the league title, it was at the benevolence of their rivals who failed to seize the initiative whenever they faltered.
"We clearly struggled during the season so we definitely need quality players. The coaches are already identifying those players they might need and I think that will be in all departments," he said.
The 1998 Caf Champions League finalists are believed to be interested in the Highlanders duo of Masimba Mambare and Peter Moyo, Hwange's utility defender Eric Chipeta, Chicken Inn's Felix Chindungwe, Monomotapa's Ronald Chitiyo and Hardlife Zvirekwi of Caps United.
They have up to 31 December to register the players with Caf with the final list of players set to be forwarded to the continental body by 15 January next year.
On the contentious issue of funding, Mubaiwa said they had been engaging the corporate world on that score and was confident that the team would be able to fulfil its matches.
Zifa will be presented with a deadline headache for the Caf Confederation Cup as the Zimbabwean representatives will only be known on the day of the deadline.
The representatives will be decided after the Mbada Diamonds Cup final between Highlanders and How Mine set for Barbourfields Stadium on Saturday.
Highlanders are automatically out of the reckoning after being banned for three years following an administrative boob by Zifa who registered them for the same competition despite objections from the club.
