The Young Warriors have qualified for the knockout stage of the ongoing Cosafa Youth Championships as group D table toppers after thrashing Botswana by a convincing three goals to nil in a match played in Mafeteeng, Lesotho yesterday afternoon.
Carlos Rusere, Liberty Chakoroma and Walter Musona scored a goal each for the Young Warriors who now await the loser between Mozambique and Angola.
In a telephone interview from Lesotho, head Coach Jairos Tapera was not a satisfied man despite his charges registering a massive win.
"The goals came but I was not very happy with our performance today. Unlike in the first match against Swaziland, today (yesterday) we lacked aggression and I hope we will be able to correct that in our next match.
"We have so far done well and I will single out our defence pairing of Teenage Hadebe and Liberty Chakoroma as well as Tafadzwa Kutinyu for special mention so far," Tapera said.
The Young Warriors have previously done very well in the regional tourney and will be eager to reclaim the title they last lifted back in 2009 with Knowledge Musona inspiring them to a famous 3-0 victory over hosts South Africa.
