Delta Beverages, through its Castle Lager brand will, before Christmas, reveal their next financial commitment to sponsor the premier soccer league, zimbabwefocus reported.
Patricia Murambinda Delta Beverages marketing manager and PSL chief executive officer Kennedy Ndebele confirmed that there is an improved deal.
According to sources privy to the new contract, the league sponsorship might be increased to 30 percent.
Castle Lager has spent $600 000 every season since 2011.
Castle Lager has been the principal financier of the top flight league for three seasons.
Prospects of a contractual renewal were not clear by Friday but in his speech, Maxen Karombo, Delta Corporation's executive marketing director said: "We remain football's best friend and indeed for many sports in Zimbabwe. It is therefore not debatable that Delta Beverages is the number one supporter of sport in Zimbabwe."
Karombo indicated that if they were to continue their sponsorship with the PSL, clubs would have to guard against tarnishing the image of the game.
"An unfortunate sense of entitlement, gross miscalculation of the value of the game and an insatiable thirst for fights are the main nagging issues that have discouraged Delta Beverages and held back many potential sponsors from the game.
Despite this setback, Delta Beverages leadership is committed to sponsoring football and remains hopeful that we will soon find new common ground with the league's leadership in crafting a new deal said Karombo.
