The Warriors will carry the expectations of the entire Southern Africa region after qualifying for the quarter finals of the African Nations Championships underway in South Africa.

The Warriors' victory over Burkina Faso has given Ian Gorowa and his team the extra burden of representing the region after both Mozambique and hosts South Africa failed to negotiate their way past the group stage.

South Africa, who were in Group A, managed four points after beating Mozambique 3-1, drawing 1-1 with Mali before losing to Nigeria 3-1 to bow out.

Mozambique lost all their  matches against South Africa, Nigeria and Mali leaving Zimbabwe's Warriors as the region's torch bearers in the quarter finals.

Masimba Mambare's 56th minute strike, the Warriors' solitary goal, gave Zimbabwe's their first win at CHAN 2014, but most importantly, Ian Gorowa's charges are yet to concede a goal.

Zimbabwe's victory over Burkina Faso also ensured they maintain their impressive record over the Burkinabes.

The Warriors have never lost a match against the Stallions of Burkina Faso in all competitions.
