Silas Songani says he was surprised and almost stopped breathing when Danish top-flight side Sonderjyske agreed to sign him.
The former Harare City winger had been with Sonderjske for the past two weeks and immediately caught the eye of coach Lars Sondergaard.
With the Haderslev-based side hoping to avoid relegation when the Danish Superliga resumes in February, they immediately offered the Zimbabwe international a two and half-year contract.
Songani returned to Zimbabwe on Sunday afternoon to sort out some personal matters before flying back to Northern European yesterday afternoon to join his new teammates.
Last year was a breakthrough year for the former Laliga winger, who was handed his first Zimbabwe cap by former Warriors coach Klaus-Dieter Pagels.
Songani was also instrumental in Harare City's title challenge that saw the Sunshine Boys losing out on the championship to Dynamos only on goal difference.
Songani also narrowly missed out on the 2013 Soccer Star of the Year award after he was piped to the top gong by Dynamos midfielder Tawanda Muparati.
