IT'S confirmed, the road to the $100,000 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title starts this Saturday with four matches lined up at three venues across the country.
Bulawayo fans will get a double dosage on the opening day of the league when Premiership returnees Bantu Rovers welcome army side Black Rhinos at Luveve Stadium at 1PM before Chicken Inn take on Harare City two hours later.
Both matches will be beamed live on Supersport 9.
According to a statement from the PSL chief executive officer Kennedy Ndebele, gate charges have been maintained at $3 for the rest of the ground.
"The 2014 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League kicks off on Saturday 5, April 2014. The Premier Soccer League and Delta Beverages would like to advise all football stakeholders, fans, officials, players, the media and the general public to brace themselves for an exciting football season," said the league's head of secretariat, Ndebele.
Newly promoted sides, ZPC Kariba and Chapungu will start their campaigns at home to Caps United and Highlanders respectively.
Action continues on Sunday with reigning champions Dynamos invading the City of Kings and Queens to face gold miners How Mine at Barbourfields Stadium in the highlight match of the weekend.
Dembare are yet to register a win at Emagumeni against any other team in recent years other than Highlanders and will seek to end that poor run by starting the defence of their title on a positive outing. The match will also be screened live on Supersport.
Hwange had a quiet pre-season start at home against Luke Masomere's Buffaloes. Another mining side, Shabanie Mine welcome Triangle at Shabanie Mine. Chiredzi and FC Platinum round-up the weekend matches at Gibbo Stadium.
