HIGHLANDERS' midfield engine and inspirational icon Peter "Rio" Moyo has been arrested for driving without a licence.
The dreadlocked Rio was nabbed at a roadblock on his way to training on Wednesday.
The Bosso playmaker missed the Wednesday afternoon training session after being detained for driving his Toyota March without proper documents.
Police sources said Moyo was stopped near Mzilikazi while on his way to training at St Columba's High School.
Although Highlanders chairman Peter Dube said was not aware of the issue, police spokesperson for Bulawayo Inspector Mandlenkosi Moyo confirmed Rio was detained for driving without a licence.
Reports indicate Highlanders stars are driving without licences depending on their popularity to go past roadblocks.
Star midfielder Kuda Mahachi was also caught driving without a licence last year.
"Yes he was arrested for driving without a licence, but we later released him as we demanded he should produce it.
"The law gives him seven days to produce it, failure to do that, we will have to apprehend him for breaching the law and charge him accordingly,
said Moyo.
The Bosso midfield dynamo could not be reached for comment.
