Gwindi booted out

Leslie Gwindi and his executive committee have been booted out of Harare City as the capital's councillors move to address the team's horrific start to the season.
Team patron and Harare Mayor Bernard Manyenyeni confirmed the development, hinting that a new executive will be announced this week.
"Yes, we dissolved the entire executive at a full council meeting on Thursday.
"There are a number of issues that we were not happy with, especially over the manner in which the team was being administered.
"There are also quite a number of malpractices which we felt did not augur well with the image that we want the club to mirror on behalf of the City.
"Corporate governance was clearly no longer being adhered to and we felt duty bound to act as we have done," he said.
Before Thursday's full council meeting Gwindi announced that he was reshuffling the team's executive with secretary Tarisai Kwenda said to be the main target. However, it has since emerged that the Zifa presidential elections losing candidate was flogging a dead horse.
Gwindi yesterday tried to paint a picture of a reshuffle which will see him retaining his position in the new executive.
"Where did you get that? It's not true, the correct position is that we are reshuffling the executive as I indicated on my Facebook page before making an announcement very soon," said the outspoken administrator. However, sources at Town House yesterday disclosed that former chairman Funny Mbofana is favourite to take over from Gwindi.
Harare City have had a nightmarish start to the season, losing six games on the trot before picking up their first win courtesy of a controversial 2-1 win over Triangle last weekend.
The indifferent start to the campaign saw some executive members pushing for the axing of coach Bigboy Mawiwi.
However, Mawiwi, whose team anchors the log, managed to keep his job, thanks to the support he enjoys from Gwindi, who is now facing a battle to remain at the helm of the Sunshine Boys' executive.
