Bidvest Wits Coach Gavin Hunt revealed early this week he was yet to decide on the fate of three of the five Zimbabwean players who were in the club last season.

Revealing that veteran striker Benjani Mwaruwari and former Dynamos and Highlanders defender Thomas Sweswe had already left The Students, Hunt said he would need the next few weeks to determine the fate of the remaining three still contracted to the Johannesburg club.

Hunt believed Mwaruwari had already retired from the game, while countrymen Sweswe was looking for a new club.

"Without doubt, the Zimbabwean players contributed a lot to our cause last season, but right now the team has to concentrate on building for the upcoming season," said the former championship-winning coach, whose side ended the season on third position in the 16-team log.

"At the moment, we will be looking at the future of Onismor Bhasera, Tinashe Nengomasha and Denver Mukamba and that will be decided during our pre-season training. That is when we will decide on whether or not we still have to continue with them, but I will give every player a fair chance to prove himself before I take any decision."

Hunt gave assurance that the trio, used sparingly last season, would get a fair chance when he said none of the players who played regularly last season would "just walk in" to the team.

Mukamba and Nengomasha did not have much game time in the past season, while Bhasera was the only Zimbabwean who had some good times at the Johannesburg-based outfit.
