Mighty Warriors date Banyana Banyana in friendly

Zimbabwe's Mighty Warriors are in camp preparing for a friendly match against South Africa's Banyana Banyana which is set for this Friday at Rufaro Stadium.

A 25-member Mighty Warriors squad featuring only 8 players from the senior team has trooped into camp to prepare for the Banyana Banyana tie.

Mighty Warriors captain, Felistas Muzongondi is among the few seniors included in the team, with the others being Merjury Nyaumwe, Chido Dzingirai, Rudo Neshamba, Rejoice Kamupfuvhuti, Melody Musasa, Sithembile Nyoni and Emmaculate Msipa.

The rest are junior U-20 players coming from the league's various clubs.

National U-20 coach, Langton Giwa has also been given the mandate to guide the squad during the friendly international.

Banyana Banyana are looking at using the friendly match to prepare for the upcoming Africa Women Championships set for October in Namibia.

Zimbabwe on the other hand are looking at building a formidable U-20 national side that will take part in the Region 5 games, which will be staged in Bulawayo this December.

Meanwhile, Banyana Banyana are expected to arrive this Wednesday for the Friday's match.
