ZIMBABWE youth international Patrick Kaunda has sealed a move to South Africa's Premiership side Platinum Stars with head coach Allan Freese heaping praise on him.
Kaunda joined Platinum Stars last month after impressing on trials and signed a two-year deal that will end in June 2016.
The former Njube Sundowns marksman filled the position left by former Zimbabwean international striker Takesure Chinyama who was shown the door at the end of the 2013-14 season.
In an interview with Chronicle Sport, Freese said; "Kaunda is a skillful player and is doing well in the team. He is adapting well and looks to have a great future ahead of him.
"I am impressed with his passing considering that he is new in South Africa's Absa Premier Soccer League and is hungry to improve."
Freese said Kaunda's arrival will add value to the Platinum Stars family, especially in the strike force.
Platinum Stars just like the rest of the Premiership clubs are already in their pre-season training with Freese impressed with fitness levels of his players.
Kaunda's move came after his sterling performance at his former team Satmos FC in Botswana last season where he banged in 20 goals.
The former Njube Sundowns marksman has to be at his best to avoid the chop at the North West side that showed their championship credentials in the past seasons.
A number of Zimbabweans — Terrence Mandaza and Tapuwa Kapini who have since joined Maritzburg United and Amazulu respectively, former Highlanders winger Joel Luphahla and ex-Hwange defender Obert Moyo —have played for Platinum Stars.
